Your Machu Picchu & Machu Picchu Mountain adventure begins with a private pickup from your hotel in Cusco.
Depending on the train schedule confirmed at the time of booking, your pick-up will be in the morning, approximately between 8:00–9:00 AM, or in the afternoon,napproximately between 1:00–2:00 PM.
Your Peru Hikers private transportation will take you through the spectacular SacredValley toward Ollantaytambo, passing traditional villages, fertile agricultural fields,ancient Inca terraces, and impressive Andean mountains.
After approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours, you will arrive in the historic Incatown of Ollantaytambo.
SCENIC EXPEDITION TRAIN TO AGUAS CALIENTES
At Ollantaytambo train station, board the PeruRail Expedition Train and begin your scenic journey toward Aguas Calientes.
The train follows the Urubamba River deep into the Andes. As you travel, watch the landscape gradually change from the highlands into lush vegetation, towering mountains, and the cloud forest surrounding Machu Picchu.
The journey itself becomes part of your adventure as you follow the river toward one of the world’s most famous archaeological destinations.

Board the shuttle bus for the approximately 25–30-minute journey up the winding mountain road toward Machu Picchu.

The trail begins within the Machu Picchu archaeological area and gradually climbs through lush cloud-forest vegetation along ancient stone pathways.

EXPEDITION TRAIN TO OLLANTAYTAMBO
In the afternoon, board the PeruRail Expedition Train for the scenic return journey along the Urubamba River toward Ollantaytambo.

RETURN TO CUSCO
From Ollantaytambo, continue through the spectacular Sacred Valley and back toward Cusco.

evening, you can enjoy the Sacred Valley, scenic train journey, overnight accommodation,

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAIN AND HUAYNA PICCHU?
Both mountains offer spectacular views, but they provide different hiking experiences.
Machu Picchu Mountain generally has a longer, more gradual ascent and reaches a higher viewpoint, offering broad panoramic views of Machu Picchu and the surrounding Andes.
Huayna Picchu is steeper and more technical in certain sections, with narrow trails and
